Preliminary Task - Final Video

Maisha and i found organisation a bit of a problem while doing this task. We attempted to film everything within an hour because we weren't going to be together after that but i kept setting up the camera in the wrong place so we had to reshoot quite a lot. In the end we had to shoot the last half of the video on a separate day but Maisha forgot her top, which is why it changes halfway through the video. Although there are several continuity errors, they have taught us to be more careful with props and things during a shoot. 

Even though we had a lot of mistakes, we were quite happy with the end result. found the effects and finished the title in time. We were slowed down because we had to convert the videos to a different format after editing everything. It was a nightmare but everything was alright in the end. I'm most happy with the pan at the beginning which I would like to point out is actually two shots edited together

Editing Technique Practice - Cross Cutting

To prepare us for filming, we were given an editing technique at random and had to make a short video to show this technique and how it's used. We were given just under an hour to film and edit.

Zombieland Opening Credits

Blood and zombies everywhere as you take a glimps of the events that have happened as zombies took over. straight away you can tell that this film is a very gory comedy that will have you laughing one minute and puking the next.

As you can see the opening sequence for Zombieland ia full of of blood and gore but also shows an element of comedy to show the themes of the film. The titles themselves are truly brilliant as the action taking place interacts witht the writing. This is a creative twist on normal opening sequences that will have the entriqued from the very start.

Ultimately, the film is a zombie comedy that is full of gore, comedy and wierd effects with text and i feel the  opening sequence shows that quite well.

I never knew it but LiveType is quite easy to use. Everything I'm about to show you, I completely worked out for myself within about an hour or so. It's quite short but that's because I take my time when it comes to picking things like font and colours.

First i picked a background texture (not the one pictured), then typed the text i wanted in the text box.

then added effects to the text, and added objects (the splatter).

Although I don't stick to one media company, i've realised i spend quite a lot of money and time with Apple. I am constantly buying things on iTunes and i am about to buy a new iPod. i also use Apple Macs quite a bit as I'm taking AS Media and lots of the course involves using the Macs.
